Waiting for (Gal) Gadot

Posted on: Dec8 2013

Israeli actress Gal Gadot. Photo: Twitter.

It was the year of the wrecking ball. From Miley’s twerks to Lady Gaga’s whacked out skirts, female celebs are in need of a new kind of hero. Even Jen Lawrence fell down on her knees while ascending the stage to accept an Oscar in ‘13.

But wait. Look up in the sky. It’s an invisible plane. No it’s a giant Amazon. Well, it’s actually Israeli actress, Gal Gadot on her way to playing Wonder Woman (aka Diana Prince) in director Zack Snyder’s upcoming sequel to “Man of Steel” (no name for the new flick yet) set for July 2015. As the Jerusalem Post reported, the film will feature this year’s Superman (Clark Kent) Henry Cavill, along with Ben Affleck as the caped crusader, Batman (Bruce Wayne.)

For those who grew up on TV in the U.S. during the 1970s, it may be hard to imagine anyone replacing the image of lariat-wielding Lynda Carter, who turned Wonder Woman into a pop icon.

But alas, wonder of wonder, miracle of miracles, this new Wonder Woman is no shiksa goddess. Gadot was a 2004 Miss Universe contestant from Israel and was in three of the “Fast & Furious” franchise films, which just recently lost one of its costars Paul Walker. She also served in the Israeli army for two years as a fitness instructor and according to “Fast & Furious” director and producer Justin Lin, when he learned of this he went and altered the character’s back-story to a Mossad agent. Holy double-backing duplicity Batman!

But, don’t let that turn your dial. The back-story of how Wonder Woman originally came into being is just as interesting.

Originally created by a psychologist named William Moulton Marston the character first appeared in December 1941, the same year as Captain America, and a few years after The Man of Steel first leaped onto the comic book scene. Unlike, Superman, Batman and the Marvel Universe though, she was one of the few comics not created by Jews.

Yet like those supers, she fought for justice and peace and, speeding ahead of her time, sexual equality. Based on a warrior princess of Amazonian heritage born out of Greek myths, and known in her homeland as Princess Diana of Themyscira, she has a secret identity to all of us mortals as Diana Prince.

But maybe what’s most interesting, is her creator, who gave her a Golden Lasso as a weapon, which had the power of making anyone it captured obey and tell the truth, was also the inventor of the polygraph (AKA lie detector.) He even wrote, “Wonder Woman is the psychological propaganda for the new woman who should, I believe, rule the world.”

Since that time, her lineage and story-line has been altered to fit the political climate of the age, from sympathetic heroine to invincible martial artist. But what runs through as a constant, is her compassion which depending on the circumstances, can be a strength or a weakness.

Today, with political battles in Presidential politics heating up for 2016 and with all the talk of Hillary on the ticket, it will be interesting to see how fans might react to both a woman on that ticket and a woman on this new (movie) ticket.

Free Beacon – An Iranian foreign ministry official on Tuesday rejected the White House’s version of the deal reached on Saturday as “invalid” and accused Washington of releasing a factually inaccurate primer that misleads the American public.

“What has been released by the website of the White House as a fact sheet is a one-sided interpretation of the agreed text in Geneva and some of the explanations and words in the sheet contradict the text of the Joint Plan of Action, and this fact sheet has unfortunately been translated and released in the name of the Geneva agreement by certain media, which is not true,” Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Marziyeh Afkham told the Iranian press on Tuesday.

General: Obama purposely weakening U.S. military

Posted on: Nov25 2013

WASHINGTON – A former deputy commanding general of the U.S. Pacific Command says President Obama seeks to “seize control over national security” and, bypassing Congress, singlehandedly weaken the U.S. military.

Army Maj. Gen. Paul E. Vallely, retired, charges in a 21-page position statement made available to WND, titled “The Obama Military – Evolution and Legacy,” that Obama already has begun working with Russia to reduce nuclear weapons without a treaty, which would require Senate ratification.

“This would allow Obama and the executive branch to unilaterally cut our military capability and nuclear weaponry and ignore the treaty clause of the Constitution,” said Vallely, who has also served as a senior military analyst for Fox News Channel. Vallely has also charged, along with several other top generals, that Obama is purging the military by firing top-level commanders and that his ultimate goal is to “destroy U.S. military superiority” to the “advantage of our global enemies.”

In his capacity as chairman of the organization Stand Up America, Vallely previously called for the resignations of Obama, Vice President Joe Biden and certain congressional leaders, issuing a “national call to action” aimed at bringing about those resignations.

Vallely is far from the only one worried about a plunge in military capabilities under Obama’s administration.

Frank Gaffney, former acting assistant secretary of defense during the Reagan administration, has asserted that placing women in combat is just the latest example of a “deliberate and systematic wrecking operation” the administration has conducted against the U.S. armed forces since 2009.

In addition, the Obama administration has directed measures to reduce the Pentagon budget by $1.3 trillion over the next 10 years, said Gaffney, currently president of the Washington-based Center for Security Policy.

In turn, this is bringing about the elimination or slowing of virtually all modernization programs, reduction in maintenance of worn-out weapons systems and other equipment and diminished training and cutting back in benefits, such as the plan the Pentagon has ordered to cut out commissary privileges at all of the military’s 178 U.S. and 70 foreign bases.

Further, Obama’s social agenda now includes changes in the law to allow open homosexuality in the ranks of the American armed forces.

Response? Increased foreign aggression

The undermining of the U.S. military hasn’t been lost on other countries like China, Russia, Iran and North Korea, all of whom have become more militarily aggressive during the Obama administration.

Robert Fisher, a Chinese military affairs specialist, says the Chinese leadership is “not impressed” with the administration’s decisions regarding next-generation stealth aircraft and its retirement of more than half of the Navy’s warships.

At the same time, Beijing has deployed its “carrier killer” missile, the Dong Feng-21D, that can be fired from a mobile launcher as Beijing begins to show greater military assertiveness in the East and South China Seas.

Retired Navy Capt. Joseph John tells WND the “bigger picture” is that “the U.S. armed forces have been under relentless attack by the occupant of the Oval Office for five years.”

A Naval Academy graduate, John had three tours of duty in Vietnam, served as an al-Qaida expert for the FBI, and was a commanding officer with SEALs embedded on special operations. As chairman of Combat Veterans For Congress PAC (Political Action Committee), he has helped elect 20 combat veterans to Congress.

“I believe there are more than 137 officers who have been forced out or given bad evaluation reports so they will never make flag [officer], because of their failure to comply to certain views,” John told WND.

“The truly sad story is that many of the brightest graduates of the three major service academies witnessing what the social experiment on diversity … is doing to the U.S. military, are leaving the service after five years,” he said. “We are being left with an officer corps that can be made to be more compliant, that is, exactly what Obama needs to effect his long range goals for the U.S. military.”

In an email to WND, John outlined what he termed “a very few of the most egregious” aspects of Obama’s “attack” on the military over the past five years.

He referred specifically to the Rules of Engagement in combat that were put in place after Obama took office, claiming the changes resulted in very high casualty rates in Afghanistan, including the loss of 17 members of SEAL Team 6 in one incident.

“The Rules of Engagement precluded the use of suppression fire at a landing zone,” John noted.

Endangering safety

Retired Air Force pilot Lt. Col. Robert “Buzz” Patterson, who was a senior military aide to President Bill Clinton, also asserts that Obama’s national security policies are weakening the military and endangering the country’s safety.

Author of the recent book, “Conduct Unbecoming – How Barack Obama is Destroying the Military and Endangering our Security,” Patterson said Obama is underfunding and misusing the military, making America more vulnerable.

Retired Army Maj. Gen. Patrick Brady, recipient of the U.S. military’s highest decoration, the Medal of Honor, as well as other top retired officers, say Obama’s agenda is decimating the morale of the U.S. ranks to the point members no longer feel prepared to fight or have the desire to win.

“There is no doubt he [Obama] is intent on emasculating the military and will fire anyone who disagrees with him” over such issues as “homosexuals, women in foxholes, the Obama sequester,” Brady told WND.

Brady, a legendary “Dust Off” air ambulance pilot in Vietnam who described his experiences in “Dead Men Flying: Victory in Viet Nam,” said, “The problem is military people will seldom, while on duty, go on the record over such issues, and many will not ever, no matter how true.

“I hear from many off the record who are upset with the current military leadership and some are leaving and have left in the past,” he said.

Brady, who has served as president of the Congressional  Medal of Honor Society, referred to additional problems in today’s military including “girly-men leadership [and] medals for not shooting and operating a computer. This president will never fight if there is any reason to avoid it and with a helpless military he can just point to our weakness and shrug his shoulders.”

Retired Army Lt. Gen. William G. “Jerry” Boykin, who was a founding member of Delta Force and later deputy undersecretary of defense for intelligence under President George W. Bush, tells WND it is worrying that four-star generals are being retired at the rate that has occurred under Obama.

“Over the past three years, it is unprecedented for the number of four-star generals to be relieved of duty, and not necessarily relieved for cause,” Boykin said. “I believe there is a purging of the military. The problem is worse than we have ever seen.”

‘Demand resignation’

Vallely said the current crop of political leadership at the federal level must be forced to resign by the “demand resignation” process which he explained requires massive grassroots protests and social networking. As an example, he cited the public and media pressure that led to the resignation of President Richard Nixon.

Vallely also has announced the formation of a “provisional leadership council” – a citizens’ commission – to scrutinize Obama administration actions on national security and economic issues.

To begin the process of “reclaiming America,” Vallely envisions an “American Leadership Council” to be comprised of 12 people who would hold “America’s interests first, not their own,” and be people from “proven leadership,” not “talking heads” and “community organizers.”

“These must be people who have led large businesses and/or held military positions of consequence,” Vallely said. “These must be people who hold loyalty, fealty and love for this country first, and most of all, they must be trustworthy.”

He told WND that he intends to announce their names shortly.

“Under the Obama administration, the military has not been appropriately used to improve diplomatic relations, largely because the military is not viewed as a mechanism to achieve diplomatic success,” Vallely said. “Instead, Obama employs it as a ‘nation-building’ tool, a function quite anathema to its very definition.”

“Now, it’s not even fighting, just assassinating individuals. Retreat is now known as ‘drawdown’ and victory is now known as ‘nation-building’ or ‘transitioning,’” he said.

Vallely said that while conservatives see the military as a “crucial component” of diplomacy,  Obama views it as a “hindrance.”

“Changing diplomacy,” he said, “therefore is being carried out in a number of ways by the Obama administration: diminishing the military role and leadership in diplomacy; manipulating the rules of engagement; and making the U.S. military irrelevant elsewhere.”

Trust Iran? What are we – stupid?

Posted on: Nov25 2013

The Obama administration is trumpeting a weekend deal with Iran and five other nations that will freeze certain parts of the Iranian nuclear program and open facilities for greater inspection in exchange for the relaxing of some crippling financial sanctions. But a Mideast expert tells WND it’s a grave mistake to trust Iran.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is incensed at the deal, calling it an “historic mistake.” Congressional Republicans, as well as many Democrats, are worried that the deal results in the U.S. giving up key diplomatic leverage while Iran technically gives up nothing.

The group responsible for exposing Iran’s clandestine nuclear program is also unimpressed. Officials with the National Council of Resistance of Iran, or NCRI, say the West wasted a golden opportunity to demand major Iranian concessions.

“The very fact that this regime agreed to whatever it agreed to shows their weakness, their vulnerability,” said Alireza Jafarzadeh, deputy director in the office of the U.S. representative of the NCRI. “This is something that should have been exploited. If the international community, and particularly the United States, were decisive enough, this was a regime that you could have actually forced them to abandon their entire program.”

Jafarzadeh told WND the Iranians came to the table for three main reasons, including the economic toll of sanctions, major protests against Ayatollah Khamenei and additional NCRI revelations of additional nuclear facilities.

“This was a regime that was in trouble. This was the time that you needed to increase the pressure and force them to make the serious concessions that they were supposed to do,” he said. “They didn’t press them hard enough. The agreement could have been much much stronger that would have in effect really abandoned and dismantled the nuclear weapons program of Iran. It didn’t.”

While President Obama said the deal removes the threat of a nuclear-armed Iran, Netanyahu and others believe it greatly increases the likelihood the Iranians will get the bomb because the deal provides legitimacy for the program and the easing of sanctions allows Iran to be more bold in pursuing its goals.

“Those are very valid allegations to take into consideration because you don’t want to provide financial assistance to this regime because that money is definitely going to be used, at least partially, in funding the very same program that you want to stop,” Jafarzadeh said.

Critics of the deal also point out Iran has repeatedly flouted United Nations Security Council sanctions, leading many to conclude Iran simply cannot be trusted to honor any agreement.

Is there any reason to think this time will be different?

“Absolutely not. They have never honored any agreement at all on any issues but particularly on the nuclear weapons program of Iran,” said Jafarzadeh, who also rips the agreement for completely ignoring Iran’s weaponization programs that are being developed simultaneously with the nuclear weapons.

“It’s not all about enrichment. It’s also about the nuclear weaponization program of Iran, the kind of research and development they have been doing along with their enrichment program,” said Jafarzadeh, who added that it’s not too late for the U.S. and its allies to demand access to those sites as well if Iran truly has nothing to hide.

The agreement struck over the weekend is designed to last six months and give the seven nations time to forge a permanent treaty concerning Iranian nukes. Jafarzadeh said where we stand six months from now depends mostly on the United States.

“It all depends on how seriously and how strongly this administration will pursue it,” he said. “If Iran detects that the White House is pretty much happy with what they got, they can play games with the White House and the State Department about this. Then you’re either going to be back to square one or in a worse situation six months from now.”

He added, “On the other hand, if this administration would stress on some of the points in this agreement and really really press it hard, we could actually be several steps ahead of where we are.

“The ball is in the court of the United States. How they’re going to pursue this and where we’re going to stand six months from now, it’s all in the hands of the U.S. period.”

Diplomatic insanity

Posted on: Nov25 2013

Einstein once said that the definition of insanity is “doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” The current sanctions strategy in Iran is exactly what took place in North Korea. Just when the effect of sanctions was beginning to take hold, the regime announced an agreement, only to be broken at a later time. In the case of North Korea, this usually happened right before their brutal winter.

Repeating the same mistakes Clinton made with North Korea will not change the outcome with Iran. Six months from now, it will be springtime in Tehran.

Fox launches full-frontal assault on black mobs

Posted on: Nov20 2013

The Knockout Game features young black males attacking white victims on the street.

After scores of reports by WND about the problem of black-mob violence in the U.S. and a lethal practice of attacking random whites and Jews called “the Knockout Game,” Fox News has launched a full-frontal assault on the shocking phenomenon its own analysts say is intentionally suppressed by national news media.

At least three of the top-rated cable network’s prime-time broadcasts focused on the issue Tuesday night, with the common conclusion that it’s a racist crime trend of black individuals pummeling white victims.

“It’s savagery. It’s very difficult to watch those tapes,” former CBS News correspondent Bernard Goldberg told Bill O’Reilly on “The O’Reilly Factor.”

Black mobs routinely terrorize cities across the country, but the media and government are silent. Read the detailed account of rampant racial crime – and get links to videos providing the proof – in “White Girl Bleed A Lot: The Return of Racial Violence to America and How the Media Ignore It.”

“The reason most of the people watching us tonight are probably shocked by these videos and don’t know anything about them … is because they’re getting precious little attention – no attention that we could find in the New York Times and the Washington Post or the network evening newscasts. And I think there’s a reason for this, and it’s not a journalistic reason.”

“Just let’s imagine that what we’re seeing here is white kids attacking black people,” Goldberg continued, “that in cities like St. Louis and Washington and Milwaukee and Hoboken, N.J., and Syracuse, N.Y., and other cities, young white kids got together and said, ‘Let’s start this game. We’ll call it the Knockout.’ And they go around and some black guy is coming home from work and out of the blue, they just hit him in the face as hard as they can and he goes down. And then their idiotic white friends giggle about it like a bunch of hyenas, and then they post it on the Internet. That would obviously be a national news story because it’s orchestrated racial violence. But this isn’t.”

Goldberg told O’Reilly it was a “white liberal paternalistic decision” for most media to ignore and hide the issue.

“The white liberals in the media at places that aren’t covering this are saying, ‘You know what? We don’t want to give any ammo to those white racist conservatives out there (because they equate conservatism with racism anyway), so let’s just make believe this isn’t happening.’ How despicable. How disgraceful to make believe something that is spread from one city to another isn’t a legitimate news story. …

“Most black kids don’t do this, but a disproportionate number are either doing that, or are walking into stores and hauling entire racks of clothing out onto the street. This is like ‘Lord of the Flies.’ This is crazy stuff and the black establishment, the civil-rights establishment, has been predictably silent on this.”

Some Knockout Game suspects

O’Reilly tried to explain the violence by blacks against whites by saying blacks are “sold a bill of good by the civil-rights people that … ‘because you’re unhappy, it’s the whites doing it to you,’ and so they’re whacking whites. But with the Internet and the notoriety, this thing could really get out of control.”

Goldberg flayed black leaders for their absence on the matter, especially after their media omnipresence with the case of Trayvon Martin, the black teenager shot and killed by George Zimmerman during a scuffle in Sanford, Fla.

“You had [Jesse] Jackson, you had [Al] Sharpton, you had sanctimonious Tavis Smiley all going on television … painting a fairy-tale picture about how young black males are being hunted down by white people. It was absurd, but they went on doing that,” said Goldberg. “And on this [black-on-white violence], they say nothing because – this is important – because it speaks to their failure as black leaders. They don’t know what to do about this.”

Meanwhile on “Hannity,” former NYPD detective Bo Dietl blasted media suppression of the trend, as well as how police agencies have handled the cases.

“The liberal news media doesn’t want to say what it is. It’s gangs of black youths attacking whites,” Dietl told host Sean Hannity.

“It’s a race-based thing. It’s the black youths against the white individual. Not even just a man. It’s against defenseless women and defenseless people and they hit ‘em in the face and they try to knock ‘em out. People have been killed. My problem is, they gotta take this crime, and they gotta categorize it the way it’s supposed to be categorized. It’s black-on-white crime. That’s racist.”

Also appearing on the program was noted criminal defense attorney Remy Spencer who agreed the Knockout Game was severely underreported.

“I think people in today’s society are too politically correct and afraid to talk about violence from black people on white people,” Spencer said. “But if you reverse it, look at the George Zimmerman trial. That got national attention, not just because a young man died, but because of the race issue. I think media outlets are afraid of reporting this kind of crime.”

Spencer explained there was no guesswork or speculation about the racial angle, as the black assailants themselves are self-publicizing their mayhem online.

“They’re posting these things on Facebook, on Twitter and on YouTube,” she said. “In one that I reviewed before coming on your show tonight, one of the black young men who did this, his caption was that “White Girl Bleed a Lot.’ There has been a book published with that title talking about these Knockout Games. So we know that the evidence is there. It’s up to law enforcement to prosecute them for these serious crimes.”

Not to be left out, Greta Van Susteren, host of “On the Record,” lashed into those taking part in the Knockout Game, stating, “This is no game. It is a mean, dangerous and deadly crime.”

In a personal commentary, Van Susteren said Americans have to address this problem as soon as possible:

“No one wants to get near the topic of race, but we also can’t run from this one. People are getting hurt, they’re getting murdered. And even those who live in these communities where this is happening, they have a right to be safe, and they don’t have to live in fear of having their children hurt or even poisoned by ugly peer pressure, right?

“This game has to be condemned, and in order for the condemnation to have any impact whatsoever, it has to come from important role models to these young teens. I beg of Rev. Jesse Jackson, Rev. Al Sharpton and even President Obama to step up right now and speak out. Your silence will speak volumes, but your voice could make a big difference. Don’t wait. Be leaders. They need you. We need you.”

Gay Arabs Fear Muslim Violence in Dearbornistan

Posted on: Nov9 2013

gholami20120930024248803

You know that things are pretty bad when Gay Arabs claim that they’re safer in Lebanon than in the Sharia capital of America, Dearborn, Michigan.

Arab Americans comprise more than 40 percent of Dearborn’s population, which according to a 2010 U.S. Census report was 98,153.

Two Arabs from Dearborn said in parts of Beirut, Lebanon it can be less difficult for an Arab to be openly gay than it’s here. Lebanon is one of the few Arab countries on the forefront of organizing for LBGT rights.

Ramazzotti says a lot of people living in Dearborn follow conservative customs and beliefs they brought with them when emigrating from Arab countries to the United States, making it more difficult for second generation Arab Americans to come out.

He says Dearborn’s religious Arab community has got in the way of progressive attitudes about the LBGT community moving forward.

Ryan, a 23-year-old gay Arab from Dearborn who was kicked out of his house after coming out to his family, says there haven’t been any real conversations among community leaders about gay Arabs.

Ryan says people who support gay Arabs often fear speaking in support of them publicly because conservative Arabs and Muslims will commit hate crimes, or incite riots against them.

Faisal Alam, a nationally known Muslim gay rights activist spoke at the University of Michigan Dearborn last month where he presented the program, Hidden Voices: The Lives of LBGT Muslims.

The lecture was interrupted by a false alarm, and Alam along with other activists were escorted to their cars by security after their views were challenged.

Interesting how there has been so little news coverage of that. If a Muslim speaker had been forced out, there would have been a lot of coverage.

Ramazzotti has been threatened because of his sexual orientation. He says one gay Arab woman from Dearborn had to move out of her house after her brother went through text messages and emails and learned she had a girlfriend. He threatened to kill her. She’s in college, and now on her own struggling to make ends meet.

How real are threats like that? All too real. Honor killings happen in America and any other place that Muslim settle in.

Police say 20-yr-old Ahmed Tuma was angry with his sister because she is in a relationship with a woman.  Police say Tuma said it is shameful to their family and against Muslim beliefs.

Police say Tuma’s sister and her fiancee arrived at home near 27th & M when  he  and a friend, 20-year-old Nathan Marks ran up to them.  Police say Tuma tried to hit her with a crow bar.  The couple escaped into their car, but police say Tuma repeatedly hit the car with the crowbar.

Where did this happen? Lincoln, Nebraska.

Too bad fear of Islamophobia keeps liberals from covering Islamic Homophobia.

VA sued for harassing Christian chaplains

Posted on: Nov9 2013

Two military chaplains are suing Eric Shinseki, secretary of the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs, or VA, for allegedly being harassed and drummed out of a training and placement program because of their Christian faith.

Chaplains Major Steven Firtko, U.S. Army (Retired) and Lieutenant Commander Dan Klender, U.S. Navy, claim they were mocked, scolded and threatened for their faith while enrolled in the San Diego VA-DOD Clinical Pastoral Education Center program, which trains and distributes chaplains to military and VA medical centers in the San Diego area.

According to their lawsuit, Firtko and Klender allege the Center’s supervisor, Ms. Nancy Dietsch, a VA employee, derided them in classrooms and even had one of them dismissed for failing to renounce his Christian beliefs.

For example, on Sept. 24, 2012, the lawsuit claims, during a classroom discussion, Dietsch asked Firtko what he “believed faith was.”

Firtko responded by quoting Hebrews 11:1 – “Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

Dietsch told Firtko, on the first of several such instances according to the lawsuit, that he was not to quote the Bible in the chaplaincy program classroom.

On another incident in October, Dietsch allegedly shouted at Firtko for quoting Scripture again, banging her fist on the table and stating “it made her feel like she had been pounded over her head with a sledge hammer.”

The lawsuit also claims Dietsch told her students that the VA in general and she in particular do not allow chaplains to pray “in Jesus’ name” in public ceremonies.

Dietsch is also accused of allowing other students to deride Firtko and Klender, mocking them in front of the class and telling Firtko if he held to his beliefs on such things as evolution, salvation and homosexuality, he “did not belong in this program.” Eventually, the lawsuit states, she threatened to dismiss Firtko for refusing to recant his Christian doctrine and ordered he serve a six-week probation.

The lawsuit claims Chaplain Klender’s superior even encouraged him to challenge Dietsch for her “bias against evangelicals.”

Klender later left the program voluntarily, citing Dietsch’s alleged abuse.

Firtko, however, according to the lawsuit, was ejected from the program through a letter, signed by Dietsch, which stated his probation period was not “yielding the results” desired.

In July, Firtko, Klender and their sponsoring organization, the Conservative Baptist Association of America, filed formal complaint against Dietsch and the VA.

Now the lawsuit, filed with the help of Military-Veterans Advocacy, explains that Firtko and Klender have exhausted all administrative options and that the harassment the chaplains endured violates the federal Religious Freedom Restoration Act, the Administrative Procedures Act and the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

“No American choosing to serve in the armed forces should be openly ridiculed for his Christian faith, and that is most obviously true for chaplains participating in a chaplain training program,” said Commander J.B. Wells, U. S. Navy (Ret.), executive director of Military-Veterans Advocacy. “Not only was the treatment these men received inappropriate, it was also a violation of federal law and the religious freedom guarantees of the First Amendment.”

The lawsuit, Conservative Baptist Association of America v. Shinseki, has been filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.

Pine Bush schools Superintendent Joan Carbone is a classic anti-semite. If Cuomo was serious (and what took him so long?), then he would fire her on the spot. She did nothing when these unimaginable acts of antisemitic violence took place, and she has been actively campaigning to stop a proposed Jewish private school.

Carbone would not comment on the investigation, or on the rampant attacks on Jews district-wide.

The swastikas, the students recalled, seemed to be everywhere: on walls,
desks, lockers, textbooks, computer screens, a playground slide — even
on a student’s face.

Pine Bush, N.Y., School District Faces Accusations of Anti-Semitism

NY launches probe on claims of anti-Semitic bullying CNN, November 9, 2013 (thanks to Christian)

(CNN) — Gov. Andrew Cuomo directed state police and
the Division of Human Rights on Friday to investigate allegations of
anti-Semitic harassment in a New York state school district.

"The reports of rampant
anti-Semitic harassment and physical assaults at Pine Bush schools, if
true, are deeply disturbing," Cuomo said in a statement to the state
education commissioner.

"Here in New York State,
we have zero tolerance for bigotry or hate based on anyone's religious
or ethnic origin, and to that end, I have directed the State Police and
the Division of Human Rights, to undergo a full investigation into the
circumstances surrounding these acts," Cuomo added.

His statement follows
claims and a subsequent lawsuit from five students who attended school
in the Pine Bush Central School District and were bullied and harassed,
according to their lawyer Ilann M. Maazel.

Maazel describes "out of
control anti-Semitism in the school district. The school failed at every
level. This is one of the worst bullying cases I've seen."

The alleged physical
attacks against Jewish students included a swastika drawn on a student's
face against her will, the severe beating of one with a hockey stick,
and repeated slapping of another in the head, according to the lawsuit
that Maazel filed in 2012. Maazel adds that the harassment didn't stop,
even after the lawsuit was filed.

A photograph provided by Pine Bush High School shows swastikas drawn on a wall.

In addition, damage
occurred on school property, such as drawn swastikas that remained "for
weeks or months," Cuomo said in the statement.

The incidents reportedly
occurred at Pine Bush Elementary School, Crispell Middle School and Pine
Bush High School, all within the Pine Bush Central School District.

Cuomo's statement came after the New York Times did a story about the case.

The school district has also made a statement on the issue.

"The district takes all
reports of discrimination or bullying seriously," said district
superintendent Joan M. Carbone. "As the litigation described in the New
York Times article of November 8th, is still pending, the District can
make no specific comment about the particulars of the lawsuit. We are
hopeful that at the conclusion of this litigation, Pine Bush Central
School District's actions will be vindicated."

The New York State Education Department filed a response to Cuomo's questions and call to action later on Friday.

"We share the governor's
revulsion at the reports of heinous anti-Semitic acts at the Pine Bush
Central School District," said Elizabeth R. Berlin, the executive deputy
commissioner.

She stated that this was
the first time that the State Education Department had become aware of
the allegations of anti-Semitism.

Maazel said he did not
know why the governor hadn't previously noticed the matter, though he
added, "I applaud any effort to investigate this huge problem."

Attorney General Eric
Schneiderman released a statement as well, admonishing the "blind eye"
that was taken to these instances of "illegal bullying and
discrimination."

The attorney general
also said that his Civil Rights Bureau launched an ongoing investigation
after it received complaints from Jewish students.

Maazel told CNN that he
was not aware of any investigation that the attorney general conducted.
He said he was never contacted for questions or evidence by their
office.

Dennis Tompkins with the
New York State Education Department said: "We were not involved or
aware of the attorney general's investigation. We have 4,500 schools; we
try to maintain contact with all of them but can't."

Welcome to Our World Conan: "F***ing gross and racist" — Conan O’Brien gets heat for joke about Muslim girl superhero

Posted on: Nov9 2013

Conan and the holy grail. Or should I say the third rail? Doesn't he know that you cannot joke about Islam, sharia, misogyny, gender apartheid, creed apartheid, misogyny or polygamy under the sharia? It's blasphemy. Off with his head. Islamic supremacists and their leftist tools are going after it all right, after he tweeted this  innocuous joke about Marvel's new Muslim superheroine:

"She has so many more
special powers than her husband’s other wives."

First off, Islam is not a race. Secondly, multiple wives are encouraged in Islam. 70% of American Muslims say polygamy should be legalized in the US, with over 100,000 Muslims engaging in polygamy here in America.

And also worth noting is the fact that Muhammad's favorite wife was six years old when he married her — this Muslima superhero is 16 — practically an old lady. He didn't joke about that.

And lastly, where is Marvel's Christian superheroine, Jewish superheroine, Hindu superheroine, et al?

It was just a joke, but as the Ayatollah Khomeini said,
"There is no humor in Islam." O'Brien tweeted: "She has so many more
special powers than her husband’s other wives." This is "racist," as
well as "gross" — but what race is Muslim polygamy again? I keep
forgetting.

O'Brien's joke has a factual basis. The Qur'an says: "And if you fear
that you will not deal justly with the orphan girls, then marry those
that please you of [other] women, two or three or four. But if you fear
that you will not be just, then [marry only] one or those your right
hand possesses. That is more suitable that you may not incline [to
injustice]." (4:3)

But as O'Brien is discovering now, calling attention to uncomfortable
truths about Islam is "racist" and wrong, even if they're
undeniably…truths. I am sure that Conan O'Brien will not make this
mistake again. After all, he wants to stay on television; bringing
uncomfortable aspects of Islam to light is quickest way to be read out
of polite and decent society. Just ask Sam Harris and Richard Dawkins,
formerly darlings of the Leftist intelligentsia — until they touched
that third rail of American public discourse.

"‘F***in Gross & Racist’: Controversy Brews Over Conan O’Brien’s ‘Muslim Female Superhero’ Joke," by Oliver Darcy for The Blaze, November 9:

Editor’s note: Some strong language is used in the tweets embedded in this post.

Late night comedian Conan O’Brien
turned to Twitter Friday night to make a joke about the new Muslim
superhero unveiled by Marvel — but some fans did not take it well.

“Marvel Comics is introducing a new
Muslim Female superhero,” O’Brien tweeted to his over nine-million
followers. “She has so many more special powers than her husband’s other
wives.”

However, soon after sending the tweet,
others hit the comedian back online, with some individuals even branding
the joke as racist.

Here are the tweets:

at all, even if said with with mirth, about Muslims.

Islam is, apparently, a thin-skinned, joyless and deadly serious religion – emphasis on deadly.

Frightening security gaps at NYC Marathon

Posted on: Nov3 2013

NEW YORK – Despite public assurances and massive police presence at the New York City Marathon Sunday afternoon, WND has learned several serious security breakdowns took place, including unauthorized personnel roving the finish line.

Earlier in the week, New York Police Department Commissioner Ray Kelly bragged how his department would make this year’s race “the safest ever.” To insure it, Kelly deployed more than 15,000 police officers complemented by an army of highly trained canine sniffers plus additional FBI and Secret Service agents. Major landmarks such as Central Park became fenced off fortresses.

Security was deemed especially important since New York was the first major American road race since the attacks in Boston last April.

But despite all the months of preparation, NYPD sources speaking on background complained of numerous breakdowns during the race.

As was the case during 9/11, communications were a problem because walkie-talkies were not coordinated. The frequencies used by some NYPD field units during the marathon were not compatible with those used by the marathon security personnel. Officers were overheard saying the snafu made communication difficult if not impossible.

There was at least one confrontation between plain-clothes NYPD and marathon security units because of the breakdown. The NYPD units said they had to produce their badges at one point to resolve a local standoff.

Another problem involved authentication of credentials. Insufficient credential scanners at some locations – including the critical finish-finish line area, the critical juncture where a bomb was detonated during the Boston Marathon in April – meant press and personnel badges could not be scanned, forcing security to rely on simple visual identification.

Consequently, several reporters wandered unchallenged into prohibited areas at the race’s finish line.

Many of the elite professional runners who were supposed to have armed security all day also found some of their protection disappear at the finish line, leaving them to fend for themselves and battle the fans who lined the streets.

This year’s race saw a record 45,000 runners participate with more than 2 million spectators watching from Big Apple streets and parks.

WND has also learned that the problems will be the subject of two “after action” reports which will likely land on the desk of Commissioner Kelly this week.

Marathon President Mary Wittenburg, who was informed of the problem late Sunday afternoon, did not discuss the issue.

Iranian Kurd leader to West: Don’t be fooled by Rouhani

Posted on: Nov2 2013

(Reuters) The leader of an armed Iranian Kurdish group says new President Hassan Rouhani is taking advantage of the West’s wary optimism towards him to step up pressure on citizens at home, particularly Kurds, and has markedly increased executions.

The election in June of Rouhani, a relative moderate and a former chief nuclear negotiator, has created a diplomatic opening between Iran and a group of six world powers which are trying to persuade it to curb its nuclear program.

Rouhani even spoke by phone to U.S. President Barack Obama in late September, in the highest-level contact between the two countries in three decades.

Foreign Ministry Makes Statement on Saudi Arabia’s Apology for Not Accepting Security Council Membership

Riyadh, Dhu-AlHijjah 13, 1434, Oct 18, 2013, SPA – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a statement after the election of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as a non- permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for two years. Following is the text of the statement:

First of all, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is pleased to extend its sincere thanks and deep gratitude to all countries that have given their confidence to elect it as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for the next two years. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, a founding member of the United Nations, is proud of its full and permanent commitment to the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations, believing that commitment of all Member States, honestly, truthfully and accurately, as agreed upon and stipulated in the Charter is the real guarantee for world security and peace.

If the Member States of the United Nations consider wining the membership of UN Security Council, which is, according to the Charter of the Organization, the sole agency responsible for preserving world peace and security, as a high honor and a great responsibility for participating directly and effectively in the service of international issues, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia believes that the manner, the mechanisms of action and double standards existing in the Security Council prevent it from performing its duties and assuming its responsibilities towards preserving international peace and security as required, leading to the continued disruption of peace and security, the expansion of the injustices against the peoples, the violation of rights and the spread of conflicts and wars around the world.

In this regard, it is unfortunate that all international efforts that have been exerted in recent years, and in which Saudi Arabia participated very effectively, did not result in reaching reforms required to be made to enable the Security Council to regain its desired role in the serve of the issues of peace and security in the world.

With the current continuation of the Palestinian cause without a just and lasting solution for 65 years, which resulted in several wars threatened international peace and security is irrefutable evidence and proof of the Security Council’s inability to carry out its duties and assume its responsibilities.

The failure of the Security Council to make the Middle East a free zone of all weapons of mass destruction, whether because of its inability to subdue the nuclear programs of all countries in the region, without exception, to the international control and inspection or to prevent any country in the region from possessing nuclear weapons, is another irrefutable evidence and proof of its inability to carry out its duties and hold its responsibilities.

Allowing the ruling regime in Syria to kill and burn its people by the chemical weapons, while the world stands idly, without applying deterrent sanctions against Damascus regime, is also irrefutable evidence and proof of the inability of the Security Council to carry out its duties and responsibilities.

Accordingly, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, based on its historical responsibilities towards its people, Arab and Islamic nations as well as towards the peoples aspiring for peace and stability all over the world, announces its apology for not accepting membership of the Security Council until the Council is reformed and enabled, effectively and practically, to carry out its duties and responsibilities in maintaining international peace and security.

State troopers schooled in Muslim culture

Posted on: Oct14 2013

(NORTHJERSEY.COM) If a police officer pulls over a female driver wearing a veil covering all but her eyes, can he demand that she lift the veil so he can identify her?

Before a classroom of state police recruits, Mohammad Ali Chaudry, a Muslim scholar, explained that there’s no religious reason for her to refuse. She has to obey the laws of her country “for everybody’s security,” he said.

Questions about the veil and other facets of Islamic faith and culture are at the heart of the one-hour class, now a requirement for every New Jersey state trooper, that emerged from anxiety and acrimony following news last year that New York City detectives were spying on New Jersey Muslims.

Breaking: Gunfire outside U.S. Capitol

Posted on: Oct3 2013

Photo: WND

WASHINGTON — An attempt to ram the White House gates ended with shots fired at the U.S. Capitol, senators put under lockdown and a female suspect dead, according to sources.

A Capitol police officer was also reported injured, sources said.

Secret Service pursued a suspect from the White House to the Capitol. One agent in a marked Secret Service vehicle was injured when the car in which he was chasing the suspect was upended by one of the Capitol’s electronic barricades as it rose out of the ground, reports ABC.

Fox News reported at least one person was taken away on a stretcher.

A visitor from Malta, Rudolfo Giancarlo, told WND there was a “black sports car” speeding.

“We thought it was moving out of the way [of police].”

An American government worker said he had been in the vicinity of the Navy Yard shootings several weeks ago.

“I thought it’s the Navy Yard all over again.”

Capitol Police told WND after the lockdown was lifted the shots were from one shooting, and the suspect was “down.”

Authorities said the chase was on when the woman in a car apparently tried to crash through a barricade blocking part of Pennsylvania Ave. in front of the White House. The woman, apparently driving a black Lexus then fled in the direction of the Capitol pursued by nearly two dozen police cars.

The chase ended near the Capitol with a crash and gunshots.

Patty Bills, a worker at Faith and Action, a Christian outreach group, told AP officers were firing at the driver, but it was not clear whether the driver was armed.

Senate Sergeant at Arms Terrance Gainer told reporters a child was taken from the car and transported to a hospital.

Three senators tell ABC News they heard gunfire on Capitol Hill.

“We heard pops that sounded like shots,” said Sen. Bob Casey, D-Pa.

“We heard shots. They told us to get behind a car,” said Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio.

National Review’s Robert Costa was reported to be on the scene, and said officers sounded frantic in reporting the situation, “lots of scratchy noise and screams.”

He reported a lockdown had been announced when shots were heard.

The FBI responded to the scene. A message from the Capitol Police ordered anyone in a House office to “shelter in place.”

A police helicopter carrying armed officers landed on the adjacent National Mall.

NBC reported those in the area had been warned, to “close, lock and stay away from external doors and windows.”

Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-Mo., tweeted: Shots fired outside the Capitol. We are in temporary lock down.

Pennsylvania Avenue is closed in the area and tourists have been evacuated.

NBC News correspondent Luke Russert reported hearing three or four booms from his office and seeing 40-50 people hit the ground.

Only hours earlier, late Wednesday, Rep. Sean Duffy, R-Wis., was reported to be the victim of a “minor incident” outside Capitol complex.

“A random individual, unknown to the congressman, began screaming at him and grabbed his arm,” a spokesman in Duffy’s office said.

The congressman was unhurt.

His office said, “He reported the incident in compliance with House security procedures. Congressman Duffy has requested no further action be taken and there will be no further comment on the matter at this time.”

A White House official said the president was briefed on the reports of gunfire.

On September 16, a deadly shooting occurred at the Navy Yard, just blocks south of the U.S. Capitol complex, which contributed to a partial lockdown of the Capitol at that time.

A shooting on July 24, 1998, left two Capitol Police officers dead.

Another Hollywood star aligns with GOP

Posted on: Oct3 2013

Rob Schneider

TV and movie star Rob Schneider was the keynote speaker and comedian at a recent fundraiser in Hollywood – but it wasn’t for a Democrat, as is usual in Hollywood. It was for GOP gubernatorial candidate Tim Donnelly.

Schneider hit the scene in the 90s as a cast member on Saturday Night Live. He is now known for his comedic lead movie roles, including Deuce Bigelow, and supporting roles alongside his good friend Adam Sandler.

He credits Sandler for a nudge to his latest move to the right – endorsing Donnelly to be California’s next governor, and he is not shy about explaining his disdain for the current path of the state of California.

Schneider told WND he is frustrated that red tape in the policies of Jerry Brown forced him to move his vitamin business out of California, because it was too expensive and time consuming to comply with state regulations.

He said he is further frustrated that although the best production staff, hair and makeup people are in California, he has not done a film in the Golden State in seven years.

Brown and the supermajority of Democrats in the legislature, Schneider says, have created a hostile work environment for its most booming industry – filmmaking.

Schneider said that no state has more to offer in terms of talent, climate, and resources than the Golden State. He wants to do more work in California but blames the Democrat supermajority and its hostility to business for being a drag on the industry.

When asked to address others in the film industry, Schneider said, “Do you really want to fly to Louisiana to do your next movie or would you love to do it here in California?”

Schneider isn’t the only disgruntled Hollywood star.

Among others who have made similar moves was Ronald Reagan.

And Clint Eastwood, Patricia Heaton, Morgan Brittany, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Angie Harmon, Bruce Willis, Heather Locklear, Shannon Dougherty, 50 Cent, Cheryl Ladd, Tom Selleck and Allen Covert.

And James Woods, Jon Voight, Jeff Foxworthy, Chuck Norris, Bruce Willis, Dennis Miller, Adam Baldwin, Kurt Russell, Nick Searcy, Kirk Cameron, Andy Garcia, Kelsey Grammer, Ron Silver, Ben Stein, Pat Boone, Mel Gibson, Adam Sandler, Scott Baio and Kathy Ireland.

And Shirley Temple, Dean Cain, Kevin Sorbo, Jessica Simpson, Jaclyn Smith, Gary Sinise, Dwight Schultz, Fred Grandy, Yakov Smirnoff, Drew Carey, Jamie Farr, Lou Ferrigno, Fess Parker and Sylvester Stallone.

And Hunter Tylo, Bruce Boxleitner, Eduardo Verastegui, Janine Turner, Heidi Montag, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and more.

See Schneider’s comments:

It was in the 2012 elections, California voters delivered Democrats a two-thirds supermajority in both the Assembly and the Senate who joined Democrat Gov. Jerry Brown for unchecked control.

The glee by organized labor and other components of the left-of-center coalition was in contrast to the fear of many regarding just how far left the Democrats would take the state.

Los Angeles is suffering so much of a decline in the industry that newly elected Mayor Eric Garcetti has launched a search for a film czar. Neighboring Riverside County launched a stop gap measure to offer a package of tax credits and fee waivers from production work there.

The decline of Hollywood is just the beginning of what has Schneider supporting a Republican.

He described the birth of his daughter and his resentment at being told that California law requires he vaccinate his baby for Hepatitis C.

“That is spread by sexual contact. We weren’t too worried about that happening to a baby, but we were told ‘too bad, that’s the law.’”

So Schneider went to the state capital to complain about the law. While the Democrat majority would not listen to him, one Republican Assemblyman did, Tim Donnelly.

Traditionally, leftist Hollywood activists have been very public about their views, while conservatives have been quieter, concerned about retribution. Additionally, leftist Hollywood activists have been known to give large amounts of cash, and many, like Stephen Spielberg, have maxed out to politicians like Jerry Brown where the cap is $27,200.

Some say Brown is too rich and powerful to be defeated by Donnelly or anyone else. He has amassed a bankroll of $10 million with the help of the Hollywood elite. But the new Hollywood drift is casting doubts.

In another interview, TV and movie star Morgan Brittany told WND that she switched parties during the Reagan years.

“It certainly helped in Hollywood to be a Democrat. It became tough for Hollywood Republicans during the 80s. There was really no blacklist until then,” she said.

After the Carter years, she supported her first Republican, “I campaigned for Ronald Reagan and never looked back!”

At the fundraiser for Donnelly, Schneider said, “I do not agree with Tim on all of the social issues, but that is not what this is about. This is about California. We need to wrestle control from the two-thirds majority who are ruining California. Still, the more I am with Tim, the more I like him.”
